Obtain Domain Name and Hosting Company Step 1

If you have not obtained a Domain Name and Hosting Company, you will need to do that.  First make sure you have read the section on choosing a Company and Domain Name in our Getting Started Section.  Click here to go directly to that section.   

For our example we are going to use a company called Omnis Network.  You can choose your own or one from our top ten list.  We are using this one because they have a good all in one package and it is easier to demonstrate on an all in one package.

1.  Open your browser and go to the Internet.  Go to http://Omnis.com by clicking on the text.  I have it designed to open on a new page so you can switch back and forth by using the toolbar at the bottom of your screen, next to start.  You could also type in the web address yourself, http://Omnis.com.  Either way will get you to the Omnis Network website.

2.  You should open to a page that looks like this but without the red circle (that is our next step):

2.  Once the page opens you what to go in and look at their plan by left mouse clicking on "See the Plans!" located where you see that red circle in the picture above.  It should bring up the following picture once again without the red circle.

3.  Remember what we said before about asking questions?  That is why you want to select "More Info!" which is indicated inside the red circle area in the picture.  We did the research and for a beginner this is the a great plan.  You should go ahead and compare the two but we are confident you will want the lesser of the two types.  Another thing, about asking question, remember to make sure you are getting exactly what you are paying for.  That $6.95 a month is if you pay one year in advance.  But you will find that out as you do the research.  It is still an INCREDIBLE deal.  You can and should search over and over and see that this is a GREAT value.

4.  Before you order you should make sure you have your credit card available.  It will help to speed things up a bit.  Once again it should load and look like the picture below without the red circles.

5.  We are now going to try typing in our domain name we would like and see if it is available.  I want you to type in a1success.com and select search, you will find it is already registered.  For the purpose of demonstration we are going to try, ebookbundle.com along with myebookbundle.com and bestebookbundle.com.  To my surprise two are available today.  You will continue this process until your best chosen name is available.  After every search a page will appear with the results of your search.  In this case we searched for 4 names and those results appear in the picture below.

6.  Now we are almost ready to order.  It is important that you make sure you have ONLY checked what you want to order.  In this case we are going to left mouse click on the green check marks that we do not want.  Once that is accomplished we will then select "Order Now!"  That will bring us to the next screen which should look like the one below.

7.  If you were a returning customer you could enter your user name and password.  Since you are most likely a new customer, select "New Customer" and the next screen will be the new customer application window.

8.  After completing the form select "Continue".

We are going to go with the $8.95 package and maybe upgrade later to the $9.95 package.  Right now that $8.95 package seems to fit our needs.  So you can go ahead and select "Order Now!" and it should load looking like the image below without the red circle.

6.  We are now going to try typing in our domain name we would like and see if it is available.  I want you to type in a1success.com and select search, you will find it is already registered.  For the purpose of demonstration we are going to try, ebookbundle.com along with myebookbundle.com and bestebookbundle.com.  To my surprise two are available today.  You will select the names you chose until you find one you want that is also available.  After every search a page will appear with the results of your search.  In this case we searched for 4 names and those results appear in the picture below.

7.  W decided on bestebookbundle.com so we left mouse clicked in the other three boxes to turn off the green check mark so we are only ordering one item.  So we select, "Order Now!"

8.  Since this would be our first time ordering we need to complete the new customer application by selecting "New Customer."  This will load the application page where you will choose a user name and password.  It is a good idea to have a password of a least 8 characters using a mix of numbers, special characters and letters.  For example, e#B2!gl5 would be a good password.  Omnis Network even has a great feature called password generator which will generate a really good password.  Always keep you user name and password stored in a safe place!  These type of passwords are a bear to remember but would be difficult to crack.  So you can go ahead and complete the application pages.  As each one is finished just hit continue until you are finished.
